• Honorary Fellows

    Honorary Fellows shall be distinguished and eminent individuals whose membership shall in the opinion of the Council add prestige to or advance the interests of the Society. Honorary Fellows Membership shall only be conferred by the Council. Honorary Fellows shall not be entitled to vote at an Ordinary or Special General Meeting of the Society but may attend any meeting of the Society.

  • Fellows

    Fellows shall be individuals:

    (I) who have been Full Members of the Society for a period of at least three (3) years, or in special instance of such shorter period as the Council may approve, provided that in the case of candidates who possess the qualifications for becoming Fellows, the Council may waive the stipulation as to their having been Full Members;

    (ii) who have been engaged for at least five (5) years in a senior position of responsibility in intelligent manufacturing and related activities and have made a distinguished contribution tointelligent manufacturing profession or of equivalent standing, and have satisfied the Council that they are worthy of becoming Fellows.

  • Full Members

    Full Members shall be individuals:

    (I) who are engineering and physical science graduates of recognized universities or colleges, or in possession of an equivalent qualification thereto;

    (ii) who have suitable education and training in intelligent manufacturing and related technologies, who have had at least three (3) years employment as manufacturing engineers, and who have satisfied the Council that they are worthy of becoming Full Members.

  • Associate Members

    Associate Members shall be individuals:

    (I) who are engaged or interested in manufacturing and related activities, and who have satisfied the Council that they are worthy of becoming Associate Members;

    (ii) who are not entitled to vote at an Ordinary or Special General Meeting of the Society but may attend any meeting of the Society;

    (iii) who shall not hold any office provided that the Council may from time to time and on such conditions as it considers proper permit them to vote and be present at the Meeting of Associates Section (if any) and to hold office in such a Section. 3

  • Corporate Members

    Corporate Members shall be:

    (I) organizations such as a company, firm, partnership, government body, institution or other body who are interested or engaged in the manufacturing or related activities;

    (ii) organizations who may each appoints three (3) individuals acceptable to the Society as its nominees to act on its behalf and to exercise all its rights as a Corporate Member, provided always that only one nominee is entitled to vote at any General Meeting.

  • Student Members

    Student Members shall be individuals who are undergoing a recognized manufacturing related course, or persons of equivalent standing. Student members shall not be entitled to vote at an Ordinary or Special General Meeting of the Society but may attend any meeting of the Society.

The members of the Society shall be divided into the following six categories namely: Honorary Fellows, Fellows, Full Members, Associate Members, Corporate Members, and Student Members. The names of all members shall be entered on the Register of Societies.
